Loop prestiging is unlocked after purchasing The Zagreus ship, and can be performed once the loop requirement has been passed (see Loop requirements below).

When prestiging, many resources are reset back to 0, or their defined minimum. This includes but is not limited to:

In exchange, the player is rewarded with Mod Points which can be used to buy and upgrade Loop Modifications. These persist across prestiges.

Loop requirements[]

A certain amount of loops are required to be filled before any loop prestige can be performed. Every loop reset the player does will increase this required amount,

  • Base Loop requirement is 3.
  • Up to a 100 resets the minimum increases by +0.95 loops filled per reset.
  • From 101 to 150 resets the minimum increases by +1.35 loops filled per reset.
  • From 151 to 200 resets the minimum increases by +1.95 loops filled per reset.
  • From 201 to 250 resets the minimum increases by +2.55 loops filled per reset.
  • From 251 to 300 resets the minimum increases by +3.25 loops filled per reset.
  • From 301 resets and onwards the minimum increases by +4.05 loops filled per reset.

Certain Loop Modifications reduce the required amount of loops.

It is always best to do a few more loops than the required amount, to make the most out of each prestige. Prestiging too quickly and without planning may result in a situation where all next prestiges take too long to reach the required loops filled, but this can be remedied by taking a slow-and-steady approach for future prestiges.

Advanced Tips[]

Zaglagging[]

In the advanced tip section of the Loop Modifier menu in-game, it is hinted at that you should delay your Zagreus purchase. This is because bonuses that increase Mod Points gained per loop filled are not retroactively applied, meaning that the total Mod Points at that moment stays the same. This is a loss in extra Mod Points that could have been gathered for all previous loops, which is why it's recommended to delay the purchase of Zagreus (hence lag in the name) to make the most out of these bonuses.

The first instance of Zaglagging occurs after buying Hephaestus as it has an install, Modifications Connection (HEP 3), that increases Mod Points gained based on automations owned and crew members on the ship. Later ships have similar installs, with the Zaglag technique being applied for them as well.

Deja Vu Race[]

"I've just been in this place before!"

The Zagreus has an install, ZAG 3, that increases Mod Points Gained based on the player's total resets. It is extremely beneficial to level for resets that focus on Mod Points.

If the player starts every reset with at least 15 Zagreus rank points, Deja Vu can be maxed instantly (max. 10 levels, with 5 being required for ZAG 1 to unlock it).

Otherwise, the player can continuously upgrade ZAG 3 (or ZAG 1, 5 times to unlock it) by waiting for the Zagreus to rank up by filling loops. Since the bonus isn't applied retroactively, this should optimally be done as soon as a rank point is available (ie on the same tick that the rank is given).
