Cells are the main currency in the game, and are used in several aspects of the game.
The first instance of generating cells comes from buying an MK1 generator. Subsequent generators as well as bonuses (Loop Modifications, ship installs, etc.) will be used to further generate more cells (by generating even more MK1 generators, which will generate more cells).
Some things cells can be used for include (but are not limited to):
- Constructing Generators
- Upgrading Generators with Tech Upgrades
- Constructing Ships
- Printing crew members for ships
- Evolving ships
- Unlocking Automations
- Printing Scientists, Upgrade Equipment & Quantum Tech in Research Center
- Printing Personnel to send on Missions.
Aside from being used as currency, cells also have an effect by simply accumulating them. These include:
- Raising the Player Level
- An achievement
- One of the various ways to get Level Points
